Cleansers, Soaps, Oil-Free treatments, Glycolic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide, Proactive only provide temporary relief from excess oil and bacterial infections. They work superficially and because they are often washed away, they cannot provide 24/7 protection from oily skin or bacteria therefore they yield unsustainable results. And even if these chemicals remain on the face, they harm skin and further imbalance glands by leaving skin excessively dry. 1.Bacteria gather in anerobic (oxygen-deprived environments like oil-clogged pores). Like any other foreign invader, your immune system attacks them and tosses them out, thereby leading to whiteheads, ie: ACNE

2.Too much oil production leads to pores clogged with oil. The oil in these pores becomes a breeding ground and perfect home for bacteria. Not to mention a pore backed up with oil is what we all know as a clogged pore or a blackhead.

Replacing your skin's oil and getting 24/7 protection against bacteria is the only way to rid your skin of acne. Stripping oil from the skin only causes glands to produce more oil. Replacing oil after washing halts oil production.

But you can't just use any kind of oil. Only thin, highly absorbent botanical oils are effective in successfully replacing your skin's oil. Light oils like those in our formulas will not leave a residue and will be absorbed into the skin, thereby conditioning it, thereby leaving you with a supple and radiant complexion.

Many natural and commercial skin care products are slapped together using active ingredients that claim to provide a particular benefit (ie: "a seaweed face wash"). To create a skin care product, natural and/or unnatural "active ingredients" and other fillers are mixed together with an emulsifier (the goopy white stuff you know as lotion) and squeezed into attractive packaging that proudly toutes the benefits of the main active ingredients in the context of a "revolutionary new product". Hundreds of contract manufacturers and suppliers offer just about anyone the opportunity to wip together a skin care product, without consideration to how it's formulated. Mixing lots of great active ingredients without a specific purpose in mind is no way to create a results-driven product. Especially when you are not someone who suffers from skin ailments yourself and only have profit in mind. This product was originally created for myself, it wasn't until a year of successful testing and reformulating that I actually considered selling it.

Ci.Elo, llc is Seattle-based producer of all-natural facial treatments. It was started by me, Brenda Gonzalez. I suffered from bad skin since I was a teen and tried everything under the sun to address it with little success. Little did I know that the conventional methods of face washing and moisturizing were actually causing my skin problems. I finally took matters into my own hands one day. Equipt with 10 years worth of knowledge in nutrition and health, I took the time to jot down all the elements the skin care industry said I needed in order to achieve good skin, and determined their legitimacy. Moisturization, anti-bacterial protection, pH balance and balance of the sebum (oil producing) glands, among other things, were some of the necessary elements for good skin, which I deemed essential. After 2 years of research and testing I had finally achieved the perfect formula that (to industry standards) was not cost-effective, but that would address every physiological mechanism that stands in the way of achieving good skin. It is this formula (fresca), and other formulas, that I share with you.
